This redesigned Modern Edwardian-style home has been completely transformed from an existing triple-fronted house. The original spaces were cramped, outdated, and needed a modern update to better accommodate a growing family, which has been successfully achieved. The finished home now blends classic charm with contemporary luxury, creating the client’s ideal family home. The clients are thrilled with the final result. 

One of the most challenging aspects of the project was the custom-built metal spiral staircase, which required expert engineering and precision to construct. It was carefully transported and craned into place in the entry foyer, spanning three levels and adding to the home's grand entrance.

To maximize the potential of the property and make the most of the irregularly shaped backyard, extensive demolition and excavation were necessary, including a significant portion of the existing house. This made way for a new basement that offers ample storage or could be used for additional entertainment and a playroom for the kids. The demolition of the ground floor provided a fresh canvas to design a modern layout with an open and spacious feel, including a new open-plan kitchen, dining, and family room that opens onto a large deck with views of the manicured backyard.

A carport was rebuilt to provide covered parking, designed to match the character of the front of the house. Additionally, a new laundry, WC, luxury bathroom, larger bedrooms (2 and 3), and a grand master bedroom with an ensuite and walk-in wardrobe were redesigned. All windows and doors throughout the home were replaced. A new attic space with a mezzanine level was also added, featuring large Velux windows to provide abundant natural light and ventilation. The new entry foyer, highlighted by the grand metal spiral staircase, offers access to all three levels, further enhancing the home’s architectural appeal.
